Cranes active across Australia

Multinational construction group RLB has revealed there were 840 construction cranes operating across Australia during the first quarter of 2025. While that was 3.3% lower than the 869 cranes recorded the year before, it still represented a significant amount of building activity.

The number of residential cranes fell 9.8% year-on-year to 487, while the number of non-residential cranes rose 7.3% to 353.

If you're thinking about building your own office, factory or warehouse, careful planning can make the difference between a profitable and unprofitable project:

  1. Assess your current and future needs. How much space do you require – both now and in the future?

  2. Be very selective with your choice of site. Consider location, zoning, accessibility and surrounding infrastructure.

  3. Consult a finance broker early in the process. Commercial construction loans differ from standard business loans, often requiring staged funding based on project milestones.

I can guide you through the application process, recommend lenders that understand your industry, and help you secure a loan that matches your cash flow and timelines.
